Mojo & Jimmy: a festival campaign for a family magic show

We designed the social media campaign for Mojo & Jimmy: The Totally Awesome Magic Show, taking it from first teaser to “limited spots left” across Adelaide Fringe and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

The challenge

At a big festival, a show is one listing among hundreds, and the season lasts only a few weeks. Families plan outings ahead and need a reason to book now, not later. The campaign had to make the show impossible to miss, answer the practical questions parents ask, and keep giving people a fresh reason to buy tickets.

The approach

  • One loud, friendly lookRoyal blue, sunshine yellow and festival red, the two performers in costume and chunky type. Every post is recognisable at thumbnail size.
  • A campaign in three actsTease, announce, then sell, so the feed tells a story that builds towards each season.
  • Urgency without shoutingFlash sales, giveaways, countdowns and “limited spots left” posts give followers a reason to act today.

Act 1: Tease

Build curiosity before tickets go on sale.

Act 2: Announce

Answer the practical questions: where, when and how long.

Adelaide Fringe details post with dates, times and venue Melbourne International Comedy Festival details post with dates, times and venue Upcoming show dates calendar post Tickets are live now post with rows of ticket graphics

Act 3: Sell

Give people a reason to book today.

Why it works

Every post does one job, and you can tell what it is in a second: something’s coming, here are the dates, or book now. Because the look never changes, each new post builds on the last instead of starting from zero.

Built to travel

The same system works for any venue or season. Swap the festival logo, dates and cast, and the campaign is ready for the next run.
